Dear Families,
Thank you to Lauren Cleary for chaperoning our field trip to The International Festival on Friday. The students were able to see crafts from different countries around the world, and performances of other cultures. It was a very busy place, but all of our students were on their very best behavior and all three 3/4 teachers were very proud!
There are a couple of learning opportunities for third and fourth graders coming right up! The first is The National Geographic Geograpy Bee. This is only open to grades 4-8. I will send home an informational packet to any fourth grader who is interested. The Geography Club will meet on Wednesdays from 3:00- 4:00 in Ms. Henderson's room. The club actually begins on December 6th. Sorry for the short notice, but we only recently were accepted! If your child is interested, but can't make the first meeting it is fine. S/he can join the next week.
The next opportunity is a Writer's Workshop at the Jaquith Library. I will send home that information as well. It is being taught by Sylvia Smith, the librarian at Jaquith and Jennifer Barlow. It sounds like a lot of fun and it happens over the holiday break for three sessions. Please look for that information from your child.
Winter is here! Please make sure your child is prepared for the outside! They need outdoor clothing for recess and PE. We have some extras here, but they quickly disappear, leaving some children without! Thank you for your support!
