Hello Families!
Thank you for your patience in waiting for the new web-site. Please check out the activities included here. I hope to add more soon.
Everyone has been busy as we are now really buckling down with newer content. Literacy has been mostly focused on Realistic Fiction of late and that is so much more enjoyable for the students than non-fiction. I had one student say that she was so happy to be able to write Realistic Fiction because she is horrible at lying! For her it felt good to at least write something that was not true!
Science has been a focus on Structure and Function. We began with learning about the brain in animals, and then went to the respiratory system. Most recently we studied reproduction. The question we focused on was "what are the benefits of the different ways organisms reproduce?" Students then had to explain that while some organisms lay eggs, others spread seeds, and of course, mammals give birth. They really had to think about the benefits of each.
On April 14th we have ECO.
