On the week of May 8th, in honor of Mother's Day, our class would like to invite our mothers in to our class to read us a story. The story can be anything you choose! We will be studying Traditional Literature in the next few weeks so if you choose a Fairy Tale, that would be great! The best times for us would be any day that week from 8:30- 10;30, or at 2:00. Please feel very welcome, but if you are not able to, please don't feel bad! Please call me at school, ext 218 to set up your time! Thank you for all your support.
I hope everyone is enjoying this very deserved break! I am looking forward to going back to school, and seeing my student's smiling faces! I would like to take this time to remind parents that our Read-A-Thon information was sent home before break. We will have our read-a-thon on April 26th, Wednesday. Please remind your child to bring back the sponsor sheet before Wednesday. On Thursday April 27th, our class has ECO. The woods are still pretty wet so please send your child with adequate clothing.

Dear Families,
Looks like Spring is finally here! As usual, we are very busy in the classroom! We have completed our World Geography Unit and are now in the midst of the SBAC testing that is required. On that note; Please make sure your child is rested and hydrated. We have many scheduled breaks throughout the day and other activities planned to help alleviate any stress that assessments usually bring! We will be having a fund-raiser to help pay for our end of the year field trip. We will have our annual Read-A-Thon on April 26th. The children will be bringing home the information, but here it is in a nutshell. Students gather pledges for reading. It can be a pledge per page or a flat rate for the whole day. After the Read-a-thon students will collect the money from the people who have sponsored them. We encourage students to ask only people they know. Not only is this a great fund-raiser, the students love this special read_a-thon day. The trip that we are planning to go on is to The Franklin Zoo in Boston. We are trying to raise enough money to rent a bus that is comfortable for the three hour ride, has a bathroom on it, and limited entertainment. There will be more information coming in the near future so stay tuned! It was great to see so many of you at our World Geography night! The students were so proud and so was I! I am always amazed by how much they learn in such a short time. It was also great to see you at Parent/Teacher conferences. If you were unable to make it, please call and we can set up a time that is convenient for you. Thank you all for your support! |
