I am hoping this writing finds everyone happy and healthy. The second quarter officially closes on Friday, January 22nd. All of our assessments are finished and I am happy to report that ALL students have progressed in reading! I know that they have bee working hard. We are in the midst of our Vermont Unit and the students have learned a lot so far. Stay tuned for more information coming soon on what we are learning.
Please encourage your child to read at home. Also, I am noticing a decline in returned spelling contract work and writing journals. I know this is the mid-year slump time, but we really need to stay focused! The SBAC and NECAPS (for fourth grade) will be here before we know it!
Speaking of fourth grade: there is a Banana-gram Spelling club that meets on Wednesdays from 3:00-4:00. This is a fun opportunity for kids who want to play the game and ultimately compete with students from all over New England. For more information please contact me.
